*Any time an item is added to a package or a change is made to an item already contained in a package, the Save icon in the toolbar must be clicked to preserve the new record.

There are two other fields within the assembly window to be considered. The Group Code is a 2 character (alpha or numeric) value that can be tied to multiple products in the package to represent a group. For instance, if the package contains a product that comes in 6 different colors, assigning the same group code to the 6 products will trigger the selling of the package to bring up a list of those 6 items for the customer to choose from.

The Cnt. field, (Counted) marks each product as adding to the value of the assembly item. Each unique item type must have the Cnt. field checked off in order for it to count in the package cost and retail. In the example above, the product with 6 different colors need only have one checked off as counted to represent the value of that product in the package.

Notice how the Total Cost and Retail are being added up at the bottom of the assembly window based on the number of items that are checked off as counted. These values respresent the combined cost and retail prices of the individual products in the package. Use the Retail field on the form view to set the sales price of the Assembly item.

It is recommended that after creating a new package that it be tested at the POS for functionality. Grouped products should be prompted through to select the specific color/attribute chosen by the customer and Serialized items should be gone through to select the specific serial number leaving the store.

As an added feature for Scuba shops, there are two icons in the Assembly window that will allow a Class or Excursion to be added to the package. Clicking either icon will bring up the list of Courses or Current Trips to select from. Customers purchasing a package with a class will be prompted to sign up from a list of available classes being offered wheras those with a trip will be automatically signed up for the trip assigned to the package.
