Gift Cards are either barcoded or utilize a magnetic stripe, both of which are located on the back of the card. In the sales screen, scan or swipe the gift card in the Scan Product, Card or Barcode field (the scan prompt where products are typically scanned for selling).

New or Closed Gift Cards - Gift cards can be re-used after the value of the card has been fully redeemed. If a new or closed gift card is scanned at the POS, you will be prompted to Enter the Gift Card Amount being purchased on the card. Select one of the preset value buttons or use the number pad to set the amount and click the Ring button to set the amount and return to the sales screen.

Existing Gift Card with a Balance - Gift cards with a balance can also be Reloaded, adding more money to the current card balance. If a card is scanned or swiped that has a balance greater than zero, the Gift Card Lookup Window will take over the sales screen. All transactions made against the gift card are displayed in the detail window. Below this window is a Reload button - clicking this will prompt an amount to be entered which will be added to the existing card balance. Select one of the preset value buttons or use the number pad to set the amount and click the Ring button for the amount to be added on and to return to the sales screen.

Back on the sales screen the sale can continue or be tendered to complete the transaction. Go to the support topic on Looking Up A Gift Card to view all transactions made against the gift card and see the current balance.
