Setting Up Minimum Deposits |
|
Deposits can be indicated on a system level for Work Orders, Special Orders and Layaways. The set percent will automatically calculate and display that minimum deposit when taking a deposit at the POS for any of these activities. If an associate tries to take less than the deposit calculated, they will be notified of the minimum amount they should be taking, and be allowed to either continue with the original amount or cancel and set a new value. Additional security can be set up to require a manager or associate with the correct security level to use their password to allow the associate to bypass the minimum amount and take a lesser amount for the activity. Set the Minimum Deposit Percents - Log into Retail Operations and on the tree menu, open System Configuration and go to Retail Environment. To the right, click on the POS Customer Settings tab. Find the Customer Order Policies box - this is where Default Deposit percents can be set for Work Orders and Special Orders. Use the fields to set the minimum percent you want your customers to pay when making a deposit. In the bottom Layaway window, use the Default Deposit % field there to set the amount for Layaway deposits. Once you set the percents, click the Save icon in the Retail Environment toolbar. Set Up Security - Open Security in the tree menu and click on Permission Control. In the top left window, select the Sales Associate Permission Group. This will open the permission settings for that group to the right. In the lower right window, find the Deposit Modification Permission Category. Check off the Request Password setting with the proper Ranking Authorization to set security on taking less than the specified minimum deposit for Work Orders, Special Orders and Layaways. The list of associates that will be able to approve a deposit modification will appear in the Ranking Members list on setting the number of stars in the Ranking Authorization column. Click the Save icon in the Security toolbar to update the new settings. Note* You will need to exit out of each POS terminal for new security settings to take effect. |
