With a customer on the sale, the wizard now moves into the rental.
Rental Packages: A package is typically made up of several rental categories for a single package price. The rental categories selected when creating the package show up as a list that must have an item selected in order to finish renting.
1. When you are beginning the rental, instead of a Single Rental, select the check box option for Rental Package.
2. Select a row from the list of Rental Packages created in the back office rental package interface and click the Next button.
3. Select a Rental Timeframe set up for the packages and set the start date. The Start Date options include to start the rental for the current day or to start it for the next day. This allows people to pick up their rental(s) the night before but not start the clock ticking for the Due Date until the next day. Click the Next button to continue.
4. In the window, each rental type in the package will be listed. If the rental category is set up to Auto Suggest (a setting in the Retail Operations Rental Type Builder), there will be a Suggested Rental Code, otherwise, the code field will be blank and you will need to click the Change button to set the rental code the customer will be using.
Changing the Rental Code - When the Change buttton is clicked, this will open a window displaying each rental item for the chosen rental category. In this window, you can only select one rental item as this is a pre-designed package. Click the OK button and the suggested rental code will be updated in the list.
5. Once all of the package items have a rental code set, click the Next button to return you to the main sales screen with the selected rental item(s) contained in the package listed on the ticket below the main package price line.
At this time, you may either finish out the sale, add additional products to the ticket, or go back into Rentals to add on additional rental items whether it be a single rental not included in the package, or another rental package. Note* To track the rental gear to each specific customer, it is recommended that separate sales be rung for each individual in a group.
