Bring the product(s) up on the Supplier Search results window using the Search Criteria to select a specific product from a specific supplier, or bring up an entire catalog using the Show All icon in the toolbar. The last icon in the toolbar is used to Add/Update Products to Inventory and when clicked will bring up a window of update options, including the option to Add New Products to Inventory, working with either the Selected or All Catalog Rows. The following breaks down this update window into sections.
The top section has two main options, to either Work With Selected Catalog Rows or All Showing Catalog Rows. This is an important selection as one will either update or add the products selected or update or add ALL of the products in the results window.
Within this top section are two options - to either update or add the products to inventory. If the option to Add New Products is selected there are no other options that need to be considered in the update window. All of the values pertaining to the product(s) being added will be brought over to inventory by default.
If you are updating products already in your inventory from the catalog, then you will need to select how you want to update your pricing, seen in the middle section of this update window, as well as check or uncheck the Refresh Options you want updated, located in the lower section of the window.
The middle section is all about how you want your cost and retail price to be handled when updating.
Changes Based on Catalog Cost: The most typical option (defaulted to) will update the Cost from the catalog but keep the retail price Untouched. Another option within this choice is to update the Cost from the catalog and calculate a new retail based on the margin already set in your inventory. Use this option only if your margins are accurate!
Changes Based on Catalog Suggested Retail: Use this option only when you are looking to use the catalog suggested retail for your inventory retail. In this, the first option will keep the Cost Untouched whereas the second option will calculate a new cost based on the margin already set in your inventory.
Changes Based on Complete Catalog Pricing: There are two options here, to either Replace the Cost and the Retail, calculating a new margin for your product or to Not Update the Inventory Pricing at all, choosing to refresh other catalog values other than pricing.
